Believe it or not even kids can get injured by doing too much. Us weekend warriors know what it feels like Monday morning after our Sunday doubleheader softball game.
Children can suffer just the same and over use injuries of the extremities is increasing in incidence as our kids play more sports, year round especially here
in the sunshine state.

OAUSA was an exhibitor at Family Fitness Weekend July 14th in Ft Lauderdale and September 15th on South Beach. Each event had hundreds of participates swimming, biking and running their way to the finish line. These driven athletes varied from kids to seniors and enjoyed the beautiful South Florida weather.
The 4th Annual Firefighters 5K Run

The 4th Annual Firefighters 5k was held on September 9th at Hollywood Beach Boardwalk. OAUSA was proud to be a sponsor and exhibitor at this event. With over 850 participants, the event was a great success.

OAUSA was an exhibitor at the Work Comp Conference in Orlando from August 13th thru the 15th. This is a great opportunity for Case managers and Adjusters to meet with the physicians and staff from OAUSA.

Dr. Warren Windram was invited to attend a Small Bone Innovations course this weekend in Orlando, Florida 6-1-07- 6-2-07 on the clinical use of the External Ring Fixation System in Foot and Ankle trauma and reconstructive surgery. The SBI Ring Fix system is an advanced external fixation system used by Foot and Ankle surgeons worldwide to address conditions such as Charcot joint disease, fractures and ankle distraction.

The 4th Annual Race for the Magic Bullet 5k run/walk Family Day and Health Fair was held at Markham Park on Saturday May 19th. This was a fundraising event to raise money for the Florida Brain Tumor Association.

During the conference, Dr. Windram was selected to attend the A.M. Surgical certification training course in the latest techniques in endoscopic foot and ankle procedures.

Our staff had the pleasure of spending some time with the Mayor of Plantation Rae Carole Armstrong. Dr Robert Baylis and Warren Windram attend the A1A Marathon and Half Marathon Expo at the Ft Lauderdale Convention center February 16th and 17th. Thousands of runners strolled thru the expo while attending to pick up their marathon participation materials. Running enthusiasts stopped by the OAUSA booth to discuss some of their medical issues with Dr Baylis and Dr Windram who were on hand to answer questions.

Dr. Windram attends workshop in New York

Dr. Windram was invited this past weekend Feb 23rd - 24th to participate in a workshop in New York to train in the advanced application of the Vilex external fixation system for the treatment of complex foot and ankle injuries and reconstruction. He was among only several other foot and ankle surgeons that were chosen to participate in this advanced training course.

Fundraising for the Ann Storck Foundation

Orthopaedic Associates proudly hosted the Snow Flake tree at our Plantation office location to raise money for the Ann Storck Foundation over the 2006 holidays. We enlisted the help of Central Park Elementary School students to make spectacular snow flakes that we in turn sold to patients, coworkers and friends. We raised $1300.00 and presented the check to the Ann Storck Foundation to meet the wishes of some wonderful children for the Holidays. To show our appreciation to Central Park Elementary for all of their hard work, OAUSA presented the school with a check for $400.00 to purchase reading materials.
